Los Angeles - Ivy Restaurant

Just like Ivy League universities denote a higher standard of intelligence in its student and faculty, Ivy Restaurant draws one of the most industry-heavy crowds in Los Angeles. In addition to plenty of stars, you can expect cold service to be the only issue in an otherwise delightful dining experience that leaves little to be desired.

As far as ambiance goes, The Ivy is comfortably decorated in a rustic fashion that is more country than the name would let on. Hanging baskets of flowers and other kitschy accouterments give the restaurant a unique flair. The most prestigious spot in the restaurant is the brick patio, but you can expect the spots to be taken by some members of the industry elite.

But if you come to a restaurant for nothing more than the food, you will certainly be satisfied by the fare at The Ivy. Start your meal off with a perfect rendition of the old favorite, Caesar salad, and then indulge into any of the entrees ' the spinach linguine and the prime rib are especially well-received. You can hardly go wrong at The Ivy, since there is something truly exquisite about the chef's work.

You can also get less formal fare at The Ivy, such as a hamburger or some good old fried chicken, so do not despair if you are a finicky eater who only likes to eat things that are pronounceable. The wine list is formidable in and of itself, and you are sure to find just the right drink to make your evening even better. Dessert is the high-point of the meal, as the great variety of dishes will most certainly have something to break your steadfast vow to not eat any sweets. All in all, The Ivy is a great all around dining experience.

The restaurant is located at 113 N Robertson Blvd. at Alden Drive and can be reached at (310) 274-8303. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want a prime seat on the patio. It's a great spot for a business lunch, dinner with friends or a romantic date.
