If your headache does not completely quit after using the spray, you can seek medical attention before using a second spray of Generic Imitrex nasal spray. If your headache goes away and then returns, you may opt for a second spray. The interval period between two doses should be at least two hours. The dosage amount should not exceed 40 mg of Imitrex nasal spray in 24 hours. If your symptoms do not get better, make contact with your doctor before using any more sprays.

Do not treat more than four headaches in one month (30 days) and contact your doctor.

If you are taking Imitrex injection, inject it just under the skin. Do NOT inject it into a muscle or a blood vessel. Do not use it if the vial is cracked or damaged. Needles, syringes, or other materials must not be used again after used once. It also should not be used if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored.

Patients can store Imitrex at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light.

If you have missed a dose of this medication, use it as soon as you remember. On the other hand, if it is almost time for your next dose, instead skip the missed dose. Do not take two doses simultaneously unless your doctor has told to do so.

Imitrex if used in excess can have serious consequences. If you think to have used an overdose, seek medical help directly.
